Ivim Health review
Membership plus medication
Ivím offers ongoing virtual weight care and help with eligible insurance pathways, with a recurring care membership billed separately from medication.
Our verdict
Ivím makes the most sense for someone who wants continuing clinician involvement rather than a prescription-only transaction. Its membership supports the care relationship, while the medication plan creates a separate financial commitment. Patients considering a prepaid program should understand both bills and the rules for unshipped medication before enrolling; canceling membership does not simply erase the rest of a treatment purchase.

What it is
Ivím is a virtual medical practice offering individualized weight-management care alongside other health programs. Its weight-loss pathway begins with a health questionnaire and a video or chat visit, followed by a clinician-selected treatment plan. The service describes weekly app check-ins about progress and side effects, with adjustments made by the provider. That is a meaningful distinction for patients who want follow-up built into the service. It remains a remote-care model: an app check-in is not an in-person examination, and access to a program does not guarantee a prescription or a particular treatment result.
How it works
An active membership is required for prescription treatment through Ivím. It covers access to the care team, check-ins and support; medication is a separate purchase. Ivím also describes an insurance pathway for eligible branded prescriptions, including prior-authorization work and, when appropriate and permitted by the plan, appeals after denial. That assistance can be valuable when insurance paperwork is the main barrier, but it does not guarantee coverage. Confirm whether your insurer and intended medication are supported before paying for a care relationship you expect to use primarily for an authorization request.
Pricing transparency
The detailed membership terms specify $74.99 each month, although display headings round this to $75. The compound-pricing help article updated October 6 lists medication starting equivalents of $65 for semaglutide, $117 for tirzepatide and $249 for liraglutide, with programs paid upfront. A separate insurance-denial article still carries different semaglutide and tirzepatide starting figures. None of those medication headlines establishes the amount due for a specific package, its duration or its later renewal. Obtain an itemized offer showing the upfront drug purchase and each recurring membership charge. The membership page also says membership must remain active for the clinical program; a low medication equivalent should therefore not be treated as the complete monthly cost.
Branded vs compounded
Ivím describes both FDA-approved branded and compounded medication pathways. Its insurance guidance identifies branded options including Wegovy, Zepbound and Saxenda, while cash-pay alternatives depend on clinical suitability and availability. Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality before dispensing. A program using the same active ingredient is not the same finished medicine as a branded pen. When discussing options, ask whether the prescription is compounded or branded, which pharmacy will dispense it, and what happens financially if the proposed medication changes during the program.
Pros and watch-outs
What we like
- Weekly check-ins and clinician adjustments are part of the published care model
- Eligible branded pathways include prior-authorization assistance
- Membership and medication charges are explicitly separated
- One membership provides access to multiple Ivím programs when clinically appropriate
Watch-outs
- Prescription access depends on maintaining a recurring membership
- Medication programs require an additional upfront purchase
- Published medication starting figures are not fully consistent across help pages
- Cancellation and unshipped-medication terms require attention before prepaying

Best for
Patients who want structured virtual follow-up and may benefit from assistance navigating an eligible branded-medication insurance request, while accepting separate care and medication costs.
Who should look elsewhere
Someone seeking a single medication-inclusive monthly bill, a guaranteed insurance approval, or a prepaid program that can be stopped with an unrestricted refund.

How we assessed this. This review reflects GLP Loss’s own read of Ivim Health’s publicly-stated model — pricing transparency, clinical oversight, medication clarity, and access — against our editorial methodology. Frequently asked
- Does membership include medication?
- No. Compare a proposed medicine package together with the required care charges for its duration. Ask for an itemized amount due now and a schedule of later payments before comparing the offer with another clinic’s inclusive plan.
- Are compounded programs paid monthly?
- The compound-pricing help page says programs require upfront payment. A per-month starting figure describes a price equivalent, not proof of monthly installments. Establish the package duration, total charge, dispensing schedule and whether a new purchase is needed when the current program ends.
- Can Ivím help with insurance approval?
- For eligible patients and insurance plans, Ivím describes submitting prior authorizations, responding to requests for information and considering permitted appeals. The insurer makes the coverage decision. Ask whether your exact plan and intended drug are supported rather than assuming that membership means coverage will follow.
- What happens between visits?
- The weight-loss page describes weekly app check-ins about progress and side effects, reviewed by the provider for possible plan changes. Before enrolling, ask how to reach a clinician when a concern cannot wait for the next scheduled check-in and which issues require local in-person care.
- Can I cancel my membership online?
- Yes, through the account. Check the effective date and how cancellation affects remaining medication shipments. Request a written explanation of any obligations attached to an earlier prepaid program before assuming that ending future care charges settles the whole purchase.
- Will unused or unshipped medication be refunded?
- The return policy excludes returns and generally calls prescribed medicines non-refundable, while directing cancellation eligibility to the terms. Section 16 describes unshipped-medication refunds subject to administrative or restocking fees. Ask for the applicable written calculation before purchasing; do not assume unused doses or a canceled membership create an automatic refund.
- What if a shipment arrives damaged or does not arrive?
- Ivím’s returns policy asks patients to report delivery or condition problems within 72 hours, with the order number, tracking details and relevant evidence. Check deliveries promptly and retain packaging and photographs where appropriate. The reporting window is not an unconditional promise of replacement or reimbursement.
- Can I buy a supplement without joining?
- Yes. The membership page allows supplement purchases without enrollment. Keep optional products separate from your prescription-care budget; buying one does not establish clinical eligibility or provide the same care access.
