Chronos Body Health & Wellness review

Distinct care pathways

Chronos offers GLP-1 care through its Metairie clinic and Louisiana/Texas telehealth programs. Compounded packages and brand-name prescriptions have different payment arrangements.

Our verdict

Chronos is worth considering if local follow-up matters to you. Compare the specific program rather than its lowest package figure: a starter vial, an office visit and a pharmacy prescription are different purchases.

What it is

Chronos Body Health & Wellness combines an in-person weight-loss clinic in Metairie, Louisiana, with telehealth programs serving Louisiana and Texas. The main program offers provider evaluation and ongoing support. That regional scope matters before price: a convenient offer is useful only if the clinician can treat you where you will attend the appointment. Its privacy policy identifies BHW Center, LLC / Athena Health & Wellness, LLC as doing business under the Chronos name. Ask which organization and clinician will handle your care, especially when moving between an office appointment and remote follow-up. A shared brand does not answer every medical-record or billing question.

How it works

The Metairie program describes a medical-history review and face-to-face questions during a one-time $99 consultation. Patients can choose at-home treatment or attend for injections administered in the office each week. Its at-home starting semaglutide package is listed at $249, making the published initial consultation-plus-package total $348. That office arrangement should not be substituted for the telehealth starter offer. The patient education hub describes six-week check-ins and a provider follow-up before an at-home refill. For telehealth, it separates order processing, which may take up to two weeks, from shipping that typically takes one or two business days after dispatch. Plan the next clinical conversation before the medication runs out; delivery speed alone does not tell you when an order will be ready.

Pricing transparency

The Texas telehealth page lists a $149 initial semaglutide package with consultation, follow-up care, shipping, supplies and a starter vial. Extended starter packages are $249 for semaglutide and $475 for tirzepatide. The stated two-and-a-half to three months applies at the starting dose. The page warns that dose changes affect duration. These are package amounts, not standing monthly prices or a promise of the same future bill. Louisiana’s brand-name option lists a $99 provider consultation and $99 per follow-up. Medication is billed separately by your preferred pharmacy through insurance or self-pay. Preauthorization help is offered, but it does not establish your insurer’s decision or final pharmacy cost. Obtain both the care charge and medicine quote before choosing between paths. Financing is another separate decision. Chronos identifies PatientFi as its only financing option supporting medical weight loss and describes eligible services over $200. Its Cherry and CareCredit descriptions exclude weight-loss purchases. Do not transfer an aesthetic-treatment financing offer to a medication order; confirm the credit terms and total repayment independently.

Branded vs compounded

The semaglutide program names Wegovy and Ozempic and says compounded formulations may be prescribed when medically appropriate. It describes evaluating medical history and previous weight-loss efforts before deciding eligibility. The consultation is an assessment, not a guarantee of a requested prescription. Ask for the exact preparation, concentration, amount and instructions attached to the selected order. The tirzepatide program similarly names Zepbound and Mounjaro and offers conditional compounded treatment. Nutrition and fitness guidance are described alongside provider monitoring. Those are program descriptions, not evidence that a gym membership, laboratory panel or every outside expense is included. Confirm which services accompany your own prescription and which require separate arrangements. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved; FDA does not review their safety, effectiveness or quality before marketing.

Pros and watch-outs

What we like

  • In-person and telehealth routes are described separately.
  • Starter-package inclusions and dose-dependent duration are stated.
  • Patient materials explain follow-up and refill coordination.

Watch-outs

  • Starter duration does not establish ongoing monthly cost.
  • Brand-name medication adds a separate pharmacy bill.
  • Refund and cancellation terms need confirmation for the selected order.

Who should look elsewhere

Someone needing one verified ongoing drug-and-care total before deciding, or expecting every formulation and service to share the same price.

Frequently asked

Can I use Chronos outside Louisiana or Texas?
The public weight-loss programs identify those two states for telehealth and Metairie for office care. Confirm eligibility at your actual appointment location. This footprint does not establish a national program or guarantee that every treatment is available to every resident.
Is the starter package a monthly medication price?
No. The stated duration applies at the starting dose. Ask for the supplied amount and how a dose change affects your next order. Dividing by the longest advertised duration would not establish your ongoing monthly cost.
Does the brand-name care fee include medication?
No. The Louisiana program explicitly separates the provider charge from the pharmacy purchase. A prescription can be sent to your preferred pharmacy, with medication billed through insurance or self-pay. Ask for the actual fill price and any authorization requirements; arranging paperwork does not guarantee coverage.
Will every medication shipment be free?
The telehealth starter package advertises shipping included. The patient FAQ gives a different office-program arrangement: $42 home delivery for self-injection patients or shipment to the Metairie office for pickup at no additional cost. Confirm which program applies to you.
Does no monthly subscription mean medication is refundable?
It does not establish that. The tirzepatide program says there is no mandatory membership; that wording does not define a medication-return or cancellation policy. Before paying, ask about appointment changes, cancellation before dispensing, shipped orders and unused medication. Keep the terms for the purchase you choose.
What should I check about privacy before sharing health information?
The policy describes health-information rights, including access, corrections and confidential communication requests. It also permits treatment, payment and healthcare-operations uses and discusses outside service providers. Ask for the clinical privacy information relevant to your care; a privacy policy is not a guarantee that information is never shared.
