Sesame Care review
Care billed separately
The medication prices are complete and dose-labeled, and none of them includes the clinical care subscription a buyer must also hold.
Our verdict
Sesame publishes a milligram strength beside every price and names the pharmacy that fills each one, which is rare enough to be worth saying. The defect is structural rather than concealed. Medication and clinical care are two separate bills, and every headline figure quotes only the medication. Care is $99 a month month-to-month, or $59 on a twelve-month commitment, so a $349 Wegovy injection is $408 all in. One page describes the month-to-month plan as billed every month and another as billed every twenty-eight days, and those are not the same term.

What it is
A telehealth marketplace connecting patients to independent provider practices rather than a stocked formulary. Its weight-loss vertical is brand only, with prescriptions routed to the manufacturers' own direct pharmacies.
How it works
A Success by Sesame subscription is purchased first, then the initial visit is booked. That subscription covers video visits, provider messaging and labs. Medication is prescribed afterwards and billed separately by NovoCare or LillyDirect at published cash-pay rates.
Pricing transparency
Wegovy injections are $199 a month for the first two months at 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, then $349 for every dose from 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg. The Wegovy pill is $149 at 1.5 mg and 4 mg, and $299 at 9 mg and 25 mg. Zepbound vials through LillyDirect run $299 at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg and $449 from 7.5 mg upward. Every one of those figures excludes the care subscription, which the page states is paid separately. The introductory offer carries published terms valid through December 31, 2026.
Branded vs compounded
Brand only: Wegovy, the Wegovy pill, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Foundayo. Nothing sold here is compounded, so nothing carries the compounding caveat. Prescriptions are routed to NovoCare or LillyDirect, and Sesame names which pharmacy fills which drug.

How we assessed this. This review reflects GLP Loss’s own read of Sesame Care’s publicly-stated model — pricing transparency, clinical oversight, medication clarity, and access — against our editorial methodology. Frequently asked
- Does the medication price include the visits?
- No. Sesame states that medication pricing is separate from the cost of clinical care and applies only if prescribed. The Success by Sesame subscription is a second charge, from $59 a month on an annual commitment or $99 month-to-month. A realistic monthly total is the drug price plus at least $59.
- What does Wegovy cost after the introductory period?
- $349 a month, and Sesame states that this applies to all doses from 0.25 mg through 2.4 mg. The $199 introductory rate covers the first two consecutive months and only at 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg. Adding the $59 care subscription puts the ongoing figure at $408.
- Does the price rise as the dose climbs?
- It depends on the drug. Wegovy injections hold flat at $349 across the whole ladder. Zepbound vials do not: $299 at 2.5 mg becomes $399 at 5 mg and $449 from 7.5 mg up, and the KwikPen reaches $699. The Wegovy pill doubles from $149 to $299 at the higher strengths.
- How is the month-to-month subscription billed?
- Sesame's own pages disagree. One says the month-to-month plan is billed every month at $99, another says it is billed every twenty-eight days. A twenty-eight-day cycle means thirteen charges a year rather than twelve, so the two statements describe different annual costs. The annual plan, billed once every twelve months, is unambiguous.
- Is Sesame Care expensive compared with other GLP-1 telehealth sellers providers?
- Sesame Care publishes a starting figure of $208/mo. Across the 153 GLP-1 telehealth sellers providers we review that publish a single monthly figure, those run $76 to $369 with a median of $178, which puts Sesame Care above the median. The other 7 GLP-1 telehealth sellers providers we review quote only after an intake or price by dose, so they are not in that comparison. A starting figure is not a bill — labs, consultations and shipping are often charged separately, so confirm what your own quote includes.
