Nurx review

Fees vary by pathway

Nurx publishes different care fees across its general and men’s weight-management pages. Medication is a separate cost, and branded pickup, a vial delivery option and custom preparations need separate comparison.

Our verdict

Compare the selected Nurx care pathway and its pharmacy transaction together. Public pages show different support fees and fulfillment routes; neither a lower-priced pill offer nor an average pharmacy estimate establishes the price of your prescribed GLP-1 product.

What it is

A telehealth service offering weight-management evaluation, ongoing support and prescription options if appropriate. Its pages cover branded GLP-1 injections and other prescription pills, while separate handouts describe custom semaglutide preparations. Those handouts establish formulation information, not a priced plan or universal availability. The linked privacy policy distinguishes platform information from clinical information handled under separate provider notices.

How it works

The care FAQ describes online health-history review, a provider decision and follow-up, including a check-in about two weeks after treatment starts and messaging for questions or changes. Prescribing remains conditional. The linked terms distinguish the platform from a medical group and name KMG Medical Group MO, P.C. and affiliates for covered services. Confirm the organization responsible for your selected treatment; the terms qualify Nurx coverage as selected service lines.

Pricing transparency

The general weight-management page and cost FAQ list a one-time $79 consultation and $79 monthly care. A separate men’s page lists a $39 consultation and $59 monthly provider support. Confirm which pathway and fees apply to you; the lower figures are not a universal entitlement. Medication costs are additional. Public pharmacy averages are estimates, not an individualized drug quote. Ask when ongoing support starts, what the initial invoice includes and whether other services cost extra. Neither page establishes that consultation and support are always collected together.

Branded vs compounded

The branded menu names semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide injections. Separate handouts describe a custom semaglutide/glycine injection and a semaglutide/B6/B12 capsule. These are distinct preparations; their handout strengths do not establish a patient dose, supply, price or eligibility. Other pill offers name naltrexone, bupropion, metformin and topiramate-based options. Confirm the exact prescription and dispensing arrangements rather than treating every pill price as oral semaglutide or every injection as a branded pen. Nurx’s men’s page discloses that compounded drugs are not FDA-approved or evaluated for safety, efficacy or quality.

How we assessed this. This review reflects GLP Loss’s own read of Nurx’s publicly-stated model — pricing transparency, clinical oversight, medication clarity, and access — against our editorial methodology. Frequently asked

What are the consultation and monthly care fees?
The general weight-management page and dedicated cost FAQ show $79 for consultation and $79 monthly care. The men’s page instead shows $39 consultation and $59 monthly support. Ask which pathway applies, when recurring charges begin and what else is billed. Neither offer establishes a medication-inclusive total, and the separate figures do not prove the exact timing of your first invoice.
Does Nurx ship GLP-1 medication or use a local pharmacy?
The injection page says branded GLP-1 pens go to a preferred local pharmacy for pickup, rather than shipment through Nurx. The men’s page also describes Zepbound single-dose vials shipped and billed separately by Gifthealth, cash pay without insurance. Other treatments have different delivery language. Confirm the exact preparation, pharmacy, supply and billing arrangement; a general delivery headline does not resolve every product’s fulfillment.
Can insurance cover the entire service?
Nurx describes care fees as cash pay. Some medications may qualify for insurance, but acceptance, approval and actual payment depend on the prescription, pharmacy and plan. The branded injection page warns that necessary approvals are not always granted. Ask the insurer and dispensing pharmacy for the relevant coverage and copay. A pharmacy average or assistance offer is not a guarantee that medication or care will be covered.
Are all the advertised pills oral semaglutide?
No. The main pill section names other ingredients, including naltrexone, bupropion, metformin and topiramate. A separate handout describes a semaglutide/B6/B12 capsule, but does not establish its current plan price or supplied quantity. Keep those preparations separate from branded injections and the custom semaglutide/glycine injection. Compare the actual prescribed product and applicable care fees, without transferring a price from a different pill or route.
How do cancellation and refunds work?
The cancellation FAQ requires at least 48 hours before the next billing date to avoid the next order charge and warns of earlier weekend processing. Linked terms describe subscriptions continuing until canceled. The return policy says received medical consultations, including applicable ongoing care, are not refundable; delivered products cannot be returned or refunded under that policy. Confirm care cancellation and pharmacy orders separately. These terms do not establish the refund policy for a separate local pharmacy purchase.
Are all Nurx weight-management options available in every state?
No universal footprint is established. The men’s page specifically excludes California and Hawaii from Nurx weight-management compounded drug offerings. That restriction should not be applied automatically to every branded option or unrelated Nurx service. Availability also requires clinical evaluation. Confirm the selected treatment for your location, who will prescribe and dispense it, and what happens to care charges if the requested prescription is not appropriate.
