GoodRx is a prescription discount and price-comparison site, and its coupon figures are what a retail pharmacy charges, not what GoodRx charges.
Our verdict
GoodRx neither dispenses medication nor sets its price, and its own pages say so: coupon rates are negotiated between pharmacies, purchasing groups and pharmacy benefit managers. The $299 shown against Zepbound is what CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Costco charge a cash customer holding the coupon. Separately, GoodRx Care Direct is a real telehealth subscription that prescribes brand-name GLP-1s, and there a $39 monthly membership is charged outside the medication price, which the footnote states in plain words. Both headline medication rates cover starting doses only — Foundayo climbs to $299 at 9 mg, and the Zepbound rate is marked introductory for the 10 mg pen. Nothing GoodRx prices in this category is compounded, and the orforglipron product is a tablet rather than an injection.

What it is
A prescription price-comparison website and discount-coupon service. It lists what a drug costs at pharmacies near a shopper and issues a free coupon to present at the counter. It also runs GoodRx Care Direct, a paid telehealth subscription that prescribes brand-name weight-loss medication.
How it works
Two different businesses share one brand. The coupon side involves no clinician at all: search a drug, compare pharmacy prices, show the coupon at pickup. Care Direct is the telehealth side, where licensed providers write prescriptions for brand-name GLP-1s and support titration for a monthly fee. Weight-loss treatment through Care Direct is not offered in Alabama or Louisiana.
Pricing transparency
On the coupon side, Zepbound shows $299 against an average retail price of $601.39, and Foundayo shows $149 against $782.90 — both payable to the pharmacy rather than to GoodRx. The Foundayo coupon climbs with the dose: $149 at 0.8 mg and 2.5 mg, $199 at 5.5 mg, and $299 at 9 mg and above, for thirty tablets. On the Care Direct side, treatment plans cost $39 a month, and the footnote states that the membership fee does not include medication cost. Zepbound KwikPens start at $299 a month there, described in a footnote as an introductory price for the 10 mg dose only.
Branded vs compounded
Brand-name, FDA-approved medication throughout. Foundayo is orforglipron, a once-daily tablet that GoodRx states is available only as a brand-name drug. Zepbound is Eli Lilly's tirzepatide KwikPen, and the Wegovy pen and Wegovy tablet are sold through Care Direct as well. Nothing in this category is compounded here, so the compounding caveat does not apply.
